Microsoft Education is fully integrated with Weblearn and can be enabled for use in modules and organisations. It includes a number of Microsoft applications which can be used directly out of Weblearn .
Apps enabled by default:
- Teams Meetings
- Class Notebook (OneNote)
- Cloud Collaboration
- Embedded Cloud Document
Apps which can be optionally switched on:
- Teams
- Reading Coach
Teams Meetings
Teams Meetings allows instructors and students to join live online sessions directly from a Weblearn module.
When a Teams Meeting is created from within a Weblearn module, it can be added for the entire class at once, ensuring all enrolled students have access to the session link. Once scheduled, meeting invitations are automatically sent to students via email and the session is added to their Outlook calendars, making it easy for them to keep track of live teaching events.
Students can join the meeting directly from Weblearn or through their Outlook calendar reminder, helping to ensure consistent attendance and seamless access to online sessions.
Class Notebook (OneNote)
Class Notebook provides a shared digital notebook space for teaching and learning. It includes:
- A Content Library for read-only materials shared by instructors
- Collaboration spaces for group work
- Individual student notebooks for private notes and assignments
This tool supports organised note-taking, interactive learning activities, and feedback.
Cloud Collaboration
Cloud Collaboration enables multiple users to work together on the same document in real time. Students and instructors can collaborate on shared files, see changes instantly, and communicate through comments. Document types include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Embedded Cloud Document
Embedded Cloud Documents allow Microsoft files (such as Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) to be embedded directly within a Weblearn module.
Microsoft Teams
When Microsoft Teams is enabled for a Weblearn module, a dedicated Team is created that is directly linked to the module.
As students are added to or removed from the Weblearn module, these changes are automatically reflected in the associated Team. This means there is no need for manual updates to manage membership, helping to keep class communication and collaboration spaces accurate and up to date.
Reading Coach
Reading Coach is designed to support literacy and reading development. It helps learners improve pronunciation, fluency, and confidence through guided reading activities and personalised feedback. This tool is particularly useful for supporting independent learning and accessibility needs.
