OneDrive for Large Files

Large files cannot be directly uploaded to Weblearn. If you have a large file which is over 200mb you can upload it to your OneDrive account and then share a file link in your Weblearn assignment.

Quick Steps
  • Login to onedrive.live.com
  • Upload your file to OneDrive
  • Set up your link sharing options
  • Copy your file link
  • Go to the Gradebook in your Weblearn module and open your online submission point
  • Click on ‘Start Attempt’
  • Paste your file link into the content editor
  • Click ‘Submit’ to confirm your submission

Upload files to your OneDrive account

  1. Login to onedrive.live.com
  2. Select ‘Upload‘ > ‘Files‘
  1. Navigate to the location where you have saved your file on your computer
  2. Select the file and click on ‘Open‘

Once your file has uploaded it will appear in your My Files list.

Set File Sharing Options

You now need to set up your share options so the file be accessed by your lecturer.

  1. Select the file and the click on the ‘Share‘ icon
  1. On the ‘Share’ panel, click on the settings icon
  1. Select ‘People in London Metro…an University‘

Note: do not share with ‘Specific people’ otherwise your external examiners will not be able to access your submission.

  1. Click ‘Apply‘ to save the link settings

The file link is now ready to be copied and then pasted into the online submission link on Weblearn.

Submit File Link in Weblearn

  1. Open the ‘Gradebook’ tab in your module and click on your assignment link
  1. On the assignment information panel, click on the ‘Start attempt’ button
  1. One the submission page, click into the textbox to activate the content editor
  1. Copy and paste your weblink into the textbox
  1. Click on ‘Submit’

The confirm submission dialogue box will be displayed

  1. Click on ‘Submit’ again to confirm your submission

Once your assignment has been submitted, the ‘Your submission was successful!’ message will display at the top of the screen and you will be able to download your Digital Receipt.

Turnitin: Submit file link

OneDrive links should only be submitted via Turnitin if the file size you are trying to upload exceeds 100mb.

To submit the file link:

  1. Locate and open the Turnitin assignment link in your module
  2. On the Turnitin page, click on the ‘Upload Submission’ button
  1. Click on the ‘Text input’ tab

Optionally, enter a Title for the submission

Note: Your submission must include 20 words or more to be accepted.

  1. Type 20 or more words into the text box, or copy and paste the below text.

My assignment submission file is too large to be upload to the assignment link. The submission file can be accessed via the OneDrive link below.

  1. Paste the file link into the text box
  1. Select ‘Upload and Review’
  1. Check your submission in the preview window, and then select ‘Submit to Turnitin’

Once your assignment has been submitted, the Submission uploaded successfully message will display at the top of the screen and you will be able to view your submission on the Assignment Dashboard.
