What is Weblearn?
Weblearn is the London Met name for the university’s Virtual Learning Environment (or VLE) which is based on a system called Blackboard Learn. It is the online area that supports your learning and assessment all the way through your course.
As Weblearn is an online system you will be able to access your online learning materials anytime and anywhere as long as you have an internet connection. You need use an up-to-date web browser to access Weblearn and make sure you avoid any unexpected browser related issues.

Weblearn Modules
Each module you are registered on has a space on Weblearn which can be accessed from your Modules page on Weblearn.

Your modules will become available for you to access one week before teaching starts for each academic period.
Module availability dates for 2026/27:

Inside a Module
Each module will have a similar structure to help you to find things more easily. You will be able to access the module content by clicking on the Learning Modules and links on the main ‘Module Content’ panel.

Modules are made up of the following main areas:
Start Here
- About the Module – module Summary describing what content is covered and learning outcomes.
- Meet the Team – contact information for the module leader and teaching team.
- Module Schedule – shows the topic likely to be covered in each teaching week.
Assessment
- Key assessment information for the module
- Assessment instructions
- Online submission links for any online assessments
Key Resources
- Reading List includes core and additional reading for the module.
- Panopto Recordings is where you find all lecture recording for the module.
Weekly Learning Modules
Your learning materials will usually be organised in weekly learning modules where you will find you lecture slides and any other materials for the teaching week.
Course Sites
All students will have access to Course Site on Weblearn which will contain course level information and information about the University’s services including where you can find help when you need it.
Course Sites are available under the Organisations page on Weblearn.
Note: if you cannot see the Organisations page in Weblearn it means that you have not yet been added to your Course Site.
Other types of Organisations contain supplementary learning resources and information to support your studies.
